Improv

Improv is unique in that if you see a performance, that’s it… there will never be another show exactly like it ever done again. Improv is different every time.

The emphasis of this course is to provide the basic skills of improvisation: listening, clarity, confidence and performing instinctively and spontaneously.  Students will experience performing improvisational scenes individually, in pairs and as part of an ensemble for an audience.

Improvisation is the practice of acting, singing, talking and reacting, of making and creating, in the moment and in response to the stimulus of one's immediate environment, fellow actors and inner thoughts.

Scona’s Three Improv teams NOSEBOWL, Canadian Improv Games and Northern Alberta Improv Games Team come from this class. Jam sessions for non-class members happen Wednesday through Friday at lunch on stage.
