Hand-eye coordination. Quick feet. The ability to hit a bird without guilt.

Did you know that Lord Strathcona invented the game of Badminton when he accidentally shot a birdie? Well, perhaps that isn’t entirely historically accurate but we’re pretty sure our namesake knew his way around a racquet and net. When the powdered wig came off he was all business.

Lords Badminton runs from February to May and over 80 students usually compete for the team. With training camps at the Royal Glenora Club, plus exhibition matches and league play, it’s a season packed with exciting action and great competition. Last year many of our athletes made it to the zone finals and we had one athlete compete at Provincials in 2007.
